Leveraging on the scam called ‘Adulting’

Adulthood is a tough phase for everyone in their prime. In recent years, it, however, feels like an even more daunting task. An uphill struggle. The sentence; ‘adulting is a scam’ is quite popular, and the apparent thought in the minds of most young adults is how to get their sh*t together in the face of societal pressure, unstable mental wellness, a lousy economy, and traditional milestones.

Developing Strategies That Work.

I wanted to start this article about Kayode Olowu, my boss. How his propensity to draw lines from one context to the most unexpected one, sketching analogies that gets me squinting at his head in bewilderment. But then the more sensible [read that as home-trained] part of me whispered that may be a bad idea for a number of reasons none of which is financial.

Counting The Cost of Nike’s Bended Knee

Now, considering the amount of time and resources that Nike has invested into building a gilt-edged brand over the course of its existence and the high perch it commands on the roll call of admirable American brands, did it really count the cost of taking a knee? Or is this road less taken, an all too familiar route where they need no introduction?

The Moonwalker

I reveled in the drama caused by Sterling Bank’s shady jab at other financial institutions. They shot for the moon and promptly issued an apology after landing. I and many other onlookers didn’t expect this as an aftermath to the trending post.

Of Rockets, Bombs and Shade.

I was having a very mundane Saturday morning. It was calm and lazy because of the early morning showers when all of a sudden, notifications from social media started going off. I opened the first one and immediately ran off to get some popcorn because I knew from the first look that this was going to be good.

In Time, Drones Have Come to Stay.

While we have been carried away by sci-fi, especially films, drones have been creeping up on us. They are no longer the future, they are now. To put that comment in perspective, last year at the GTBank Fashion Weekend , I saw drones flying all about the venue, creeping up behind people like little monsters.

#onewildseries; One Wild Jump

Red Bull is one energy drink that is known across the whole world.  As a child, I remember listening with awe as an older boy talked about how muscles will pop out of our arms immediately we drink the contents of the can. The only thing that kept me from daring to go ahead was my mother’s painful thorough whipping

On F1 Logo Redesign

Liberty has taken a bold step that hopefully, will result in a generally positive outlook of the sports in the next seasons. This is no surprise. Since Liberty bought the commercial rights of the company (from Bernie Ecclestone for a whooping 6billion dollars), it has been making some, albeit minor, changes.

On Samsung’s New Ad

Although Samsung has got quite adept at balancing the tricky stick between humour and targeted ‘shades’ quite well, it has unwittingly made it glaring that Apple is a big log in its eye. This is the flip-side of comparative advertising; you are in a way admitting your competitor gives you a hell of a migraine.

On Coca Cola Ad For Saudi

Generally, the objective behind a relationship ad is to create a powerful story that will tug at your heartstrings, making you tear up, smile or do both. This is present in the ad but at an understated level, pushing more of sophistication and lazy elegance to the fore. The result is a quirky and relatable ad that in the end still goes in line with the essence of Coca cola.
